Olive the Ostrich is a brand new children’s show. It was launched on September 5th on Nick Jr, home of programs like Peppa Pig and Dora the Explorer. I was lucky enough to receive a preview DVD to enjoy with my family.
Olive is a beautifully animated bird. When she buries her head in the sand she is transported on amazing adventures.
Made in partnership with The Princes Foundation for Children and the Arts, this program has a unique style. This is because it features characters, props and backgrounds created by children aged between 6 and 9.
Each episode is about ten minutes long, perfect for holding younger children’s attention.
My children, aged 2 and 4, really enjoyed this program and I’m confident it will become a favourite in this house.
We received a disc containing two episodes of Olive the Ostrich to review. My family’s opinions are our own.
I love that they have the Princes Foundation involved with this, it looks like the kind of thing my kids would love. If only we had Nick Jr… Bring it to the Beeb!
The main reason I keep paying for my sky package is the children’s channels. I think I’d be lynched if I got rid of Nick Jr and the Disney channel.
