I’ve been tagged by two fellow bloggers (the ever so lovely Knitty Mummy and the baking wonder Carolyn over at Mummy Alarm) to take part in a meme. I have to admit I’m still not entirely sure that meme is in fact a real word. For those of you who are not bloggers I think it is an idea for a blog post that gets passed around the blogosphere (wow my spell check has the word blogosphere in it, what fancy modern words I’m using these days).
There are rules for this meme which have been explained to me. However I’m not one for following rules so I’m just going to dive right in and answer the questions. First up the questions from Mummy Alarm.
1. If you had to listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
One song for the rest of my life. What nonsense kind of an idea is this ? How would this work, would the whole world have to listen to my song, on repeat until we all went utterly bonkers. What if I accidentally chose something terrible because of the pressure (crazy frog anyone?). What a responsibility. I think it’s too much, I can’t choose, someone else will have to do it.
2. What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done/said in public?
I think I’m going to have to go with the time I met Michael Caine. I was living in Scarborough at the time and he was filming ‘The Rise and Fall of Little Voice” when I saw him in my local. I couldn’t let the opportunity to talk to him pass, so I went over and hit him with this gem. Me “your Michael Caine” him “yes” me “brilliant” at which point I literally ran away to the toilet until he had left.
3. Do you play a musical instrument and if so what?
Not really. I used to play the violin as a child but now I sound like I’m strangling cats.
4. If you could book your dream-holiday, where would you go?
I have always wanted to go to Japan. My motivation for this choice is a program I once saw as a child. In it they were showing the most amazingly high tech toilets. I decided there and then that I wanted to see one of those babies for real.
5. What’s your most hated household chore?
Cleaning the oven.
6. What is the one thing you make sure your child/children learn/s from you?
Confidence
7. If you could jump into a children’s book, which one would it be?
The Folk of the Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton. If you are not familiar with this book it features a magic tree which has a different land at the top each day. Oh and as an added bonus the branches grow sweets, yum.
8. What’s your most annoying habit?
Picking my nose, it’s gross but who can resist.
9.What new skill would you like to learn and why?
I would love to learn how to successfully learn Jam. For some reason making your own jam is (in my pixie addled brain) the height of good motherhood.
10. Who would play you in a movie?
Claire Danes though she would obviously need to eat cake for a while (like Renee Whatsemebob did for Bridget Jones)
11. What would you like to be famous for?
Being Kind.
12. What is the one meal that you always pull off?
Roast Dinner , though as a vegetarian this isn’t particularly impressive. My roast potatoes are lovely though.
Now if you can stand to hear me harping on about myself a little more I will answer Knitty Mummy’s questions.
Who would play you in a movie?
I think I covered this one earlier.
What is the oddest part of your body?
I have always thought that knees were fairly odd. Knobbly and wrinkly and a little bit alien. Though thinking about it not having knees might be even stranger, how would we bend our legs, walking would have to be modified, oh my.
Have you broken anything?
My ankle, two toes, three fingers and my wrist. Not at the same time.
What skill do you wish you had?
I wish I would play the piano. Then obviously I would be like a British Tori Amos, with even more angst and particularly knobbly knees.
Who is your other-half’s fantasy famous lover?
Gail Porter.
And who is yours?
Jonny Depp.
What do you put on toast?
Marmite.
Do your undies match?
I will not answer that, though I will reveal that I own a pair of cookie monster pants.
What feature is top of your list for your dream house?
A bathroom with two sinks and a separate bath and shower,
Socks – black or patterned?
Patterned, my feet need a thrill.
If you had an hour with no interruptions what would you do?
Write a post for my blog.
Period property or new build?
A self build built by talented pixies.
So that’s it for me. I am supposed to tag more people but I think all the bloggers I know have already been tagged. I must get out more and meet more people. Perhaps when I’m not busy learning to make Jam I will do that.
Thanks for joining in, lovely – even if you didn’t like my first question 😉
