Malt loaf has been around since the evolution of mankind. Ok so possibly an exaggeration but I have been eating it since the 70’s when my mum regularly put it in my packed lunch box for school. It’s sticky, chewy and fruity and makes a great snack or dessert. Recently Soreen sent me some of their loaves to try and they were delicious.
Since the 70’s Soreen have expanded and now they make all manner of exotic loaves. I had no idea until my package arrived in the post that there are now 12 different products in the range.
We tested the sliced malt loaf, banana loaf, fruity five loaf and of course the original malt loaf itself. I loved them all, but found the sliced loaf the most convenient for grabbing in the morning to butter a few slices and bung them in the kids lunch boxes.
TWELVE versions! Excuse me whilst I seek them all out!
Yes, it will be like the Bristol gorilla trail only possibly slightly less fun.
really there are that many? i like the original and to buy it pre sliced would be very handy! mmm i could just eat a slice with butter on right now! x
There really are, pop on over to mine we have plenty left.
Wow, I didnt know they did 12 versions! I havent had malt loaf for ages, Ive got the taste for it now 🙂
