As a lover of all things festive I have always intended to get to Westonbirt Arboretum’s Enchanted Christmas but never quite made it. This year I was lucky enough to be invited to attend, and I’m really glad I made it. The illuminations where absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere wonderfully festive, it was a really special night.
The trail through the arboretum was awash with stunning beautifully lit up trees and shrubs. There were also some interactive illuminations, in the above photo the boys had to bang the tree stumps to illuminate the trees. They also loved the ‘bubbly trees’ which were literally dripping with bubbles.
When we had finished the trail the children visited the craft area and made willow star decorations to take home.
Finally we listened to carol singers whilst we warmed our tummies with delicious hot chocolate and mince pies.
Westonbirt Arboretum’s Enchanted Christmas is open Friday/Saturday and Sunday evenings from 5-8.30 (last entry 7.15) between now and the 23rd December.
*Disclosure- I was given tickets for the Enchanted Christmas for the purposes of my review.
I have been thinking about taking Dominique to a Santa’s grotto – don’t know of any good ones but have heard plenty about not so good ones – so I might now change plans and take her to Westonbirt instead, seeing as it comes recommended xx
I would absolutely recommend this for Dominique, also though the Santa at Cadbury Garden Centre is really good for young children.
oooooh that sounds like a really lovely evening and if it wasnt so far away i would like to take the boys x
Yes it would be a bit of a mission for you but then you have the real Polar Express so that makes up for it 🙂
Glad to hear its good, I am taking my lot soon.
Oh , enjoy it really is wonderful.
That sounds really lovely. I dont we have anything like that local to me. Love the Boys willow stars, very clever! x
Yes and a super simple craft (which I love as I’m not particularly crafty) using only willow and pipecleaners.
