We used to have a wooden sandpit. Well I say sandpit, really more of a dead leaf trap, which every once in a blue moon my children would play in. It became more work than fun and I was wondering what to do with it. Then one day the sandpits fate was sealed when I opened it and found a dead mouse, yuck, so no more sandpit.  The sandpit will not be going to waste though, it will be reborn. This spring the old sandpit will become the vegetable patch as we have our first ever go at growing our own veggies.

Growing fruit and veg with children is a fabulous way to introduce them to gardening and teach them about nutrition. So when I was offered the chance to review a new book aimed at children called Grow Organic Eat Organic (available here) it was perfect timing.

grow organic eat organic

When the book arrived I was not disappointed. It’s a really good beginners guide to Organic gardening with a how to that takes you from seed to plate, and some recipes for when you get there. It’s beautifully illustrated and well laid out, and explains everything a beginner needs to know. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone interested in introducing their children to growing fruit and veggies organically.

*Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this book (rrp £5.99) for the purposes of this review.
