I love the beach. It’s literally my favourite place in the whole wide world. My most local beach is Weston Super Mare. Known endearingly as Weston Super Mud for it’s lack of actual sea. It’s lovely if you like amusement arcades, fun fair and donkey rides but I prefer my beaches more au natural. Think miles and miles of naked sand and sea.

This year I intend to find such a beach, and spend more time on it. So yesterday with this mission in mind we headed into Wales to the Gower Peninsular. The Gower has been recommended to me many times so it was about time we visited. We decided to try Oxwich beach and it was absolutely perfect.

A beautiful clean sandy beach with sand dunes perfect for the children to explore. The children played and I sat on a blanket digging my toes into the sand. The sound of the children enjoying themselves made my heart very happy. The music of the sea relaxed my mind and soothed my soul.
