Wakey Wakey Big Brown Bear is written by Tracey Corderoy and illustrated by Rachel Swirles. It’s about Big Brown Bear and his friends Little Grey Mouse, Snow Hare and Squirrel. Big Brown Bear needs to hibernate but he is reluctant too because he doesn’t want to miss all the fun winter activities. His friends promise to wake him to enjoy the season but when the time comes they cannot get him to rouse. Don’t worry though, it all works out ok in the end.
This book is ideal for getting toddlers and young children to think about winter. The illustrations are very sweet, and it makes a welcome addition to our picture book collection. It’s published by Parragon and priced £5.99.

My favourite thing about winter is diving into a freezing cold bed and getting really cozy as it warms up. And then staying there until spring!
I love the cold! I am one of those people who hates the sun but loves wrapping up during the Winter. I love wearing woolly jumpers and slippers and I love drawing my curtains early and having my lamps on and candles lit!
