Gibson Games sell puzzles and games, and My World is their preschool range. The range has been developed in conjunction with a child phycologist to ensure that they’re educational as well as being fun. We were asked to review Gibsons My Space Adventure, a 60 piece floor puzzle aimed at children aged four upwards.
I helped Robo Boy to make the puzzle. Initially, being somewhat of a control freak an engaged and helpful parent I suggested we build the puzzle from the outside in. Robo Boy had other ideas and was very sure that inside out was definitely the way to go. So we sorted all the pieces, which was made easy by the picture having a clearly defined yellow border around the edge, into edge and middle. Then Robo Boy pretty much made it by himself, only really needing encouragement and occasional help finding the right piece.
He really enjoyed making the puzzle, and was very pleased with the end result. The picture is very engaging, with a rocket ship, planets and strange alien creatures, and around the border are facts about space that you can talk about with your child. It’s a lovely, well made, engaging puzzle and I would definitely recommend it.
*Disclosure: we were sent the puzzle in order to write this review. I always write honest reviews.
