“An indian curry she ate in a HURRY accompanied by chutney and rice. A pink wobbly jelly slid down to her belly, followed by sweet sugar mice.”

We grab a stack of books, find a comfy spot on the sofa and curl up together to visit the worlds created by our favourite authors and illustrators. We have our staples, Julia Donaldson, Roald Dahl, Dr Seuss, these books are pulled out often from the shelf, and we love their quirkiness, illustrations and fun. Recently we were sent three books by a, new to us, author who I met on Twitter, these books are so wonderful that they’ve joined our family of favourites. I’m hoping they might join yours too.

‘Mrs Maccready was ever so greedy’, ‘Tabitha Posy was ever so nosy’ and ‘Miss Dorothy-Jane was ever so vain’ are written by Julie Fulton and illustrated by Jona-Jung. All three books are written about characters who are flawed, and the stories teach children why it’s not good to be too greedy, or vain or nosy. They do so with funny stories full of character, which had my children giggling but still taking in the message. ย The illustrations are wonderful, big and bold and they support the story brilliantly.

I would absolutely recommend these books to anyone with children aged three to seven. They’re all available to buy from Amazon, and if you’d like to find out more about Julie her website is here.ย Also ‘Tabitha Posy was ever so nosy’ is nominated for a People’s Book Prize, voting is open during May so if you buy and enjoy the book please do consider giving her a vote.
