I’m a member of the Mumsnet blogger research panel so the Purple family were invited, last weekend, to visit Bella Italia, in Bristol at Cribbs Causeway, to see what we think of some changes they’ve made to the kids menu. I know, I know, it’s a tough life.
The restaurant has tables and booths and a bit of an Italian American diner feel. In the middle of the restaurant is an ice-cream cart and I think it makes everything feel a little bit more special and treaty.
So with the children a little bit more excited we took a look at the new children’s menu.
I think it’s great, children can order the a starter, drink, main and dessert for £5.95 or £7.96 for children over 6. The boys ordered tomato soup and it’s yummy, flavoursome and tangy. Wonder Girl went for garlic pizza bread and tucked it away in no time. For main the boys went for pizza, and Wonder Girl macaroni cheese which comes with ham if you’re a meat eater. There were other delicious looking choices, salmon, chicken, burgers and more.
For dessert Wonder Girl and Super Kid went for mini doughnuts with a chocolate sauce. They were declared delicious and I didn’t even get a mouthful. Rob Boy was temped by the ice-cream cart and had two scoops of chocolate with various sprinkles and sauces to create a gooey, sticky, mess and we didn’t hear a peep from him until it was finished.
In case you’re wondering I enjoyed a gorgeous prawn risotto and Mr Purple tucked into sea bass with roasted vegetables. Oh and obviously…

Just popping by as we reviewed the Bella in York last week. Glad to see you enjoyed it and WOW – the ice cream cart looks amazing. They didn’t have one in York, but we loved it there all the same.
Hi, thanks for popping by. Yes the ice-cream cart made it really special.
