I’m always a little wary of alternative therapies. I need a strong scientific argument before trying anything which could potentially affect my health. So when I was offered a Pranamat Eco to review and read
‘This massage mat has been created by wellness experts and harnesses a wonderful combination of ancient theories and holistic therapy to deliver effective body massage via its collection of pointed lotus flowers.’
I was a little sceptical. However it also says
‘The effects of the Pranamat are incredibly similar to those of acupuncture. Circulation is improved, toxins throughout the body are eliminated and muscles, joints and tissues are relaxed. The nervous system is also stimulated in order to encourage the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers. Not only will persistent pain be reduced, but you’ll experience a heightened state of mental and physical wellbeing.’
I’ve always wanted to try acupuncture. Unfortunately I’m a girly wuss when it comes to needles and I’ve never managed to pluck up the courage to do so. I decided to give the Pranamat Eco a try because it offers a lot of the same health benefits.
Pranamat Eco is made from all natural eco friendly materials, and comes in a range of colours. It costs around £90.
I have a diagnosis of CFS which causes muscle pain and fatigue. Alongside that I suffer from a lot of anxiety because of my aspergers. I would definitely appreciate some of the health benefits the Pranamat Eco offers.
Initially the mat is a little uncomfortable, the lotus flowers are scratchy and pointed. So I generally wear a vest top to lie down on it and am gradually increasing the amount of pressure I apply when using the mat for other body parts. I use it on my hands, feet and back finding 15/20 mins a good session length. I definitely feel very relaxed after my sessions.
I received the mat in early January, so I’ve been using it for around a month. My health has been better than usual for the last month, which I would attribute to using the Pranamat, as well as taking a range of vitamin supplements and resting more often.

Disclosure: I was gifted the Pranamat Eco for the purposes of this review.
I am sat here reading this thinking oooh that sounds rather nice and relaxing. Nice to have alternatives to pain and stress relief. I currently have one shoulder that is knotted from too much stress! Glad you have had a good month especially being a January x
