Camp Bestival 2016

I have some exciting news to share. The Purple family will be going to Camp Bestival 2016! We love, love, love Camp Bestival. It’s a highlight in our calendar, a relaxing weekend where we are all happy, well fed, relaxed and thoroughly entertained. Each year at Camp Bestival there is a theme, festival goers dress up and the whole festival is themed.  This years theme is Outer Space, so begin the count down, I can’t wait for lift off.

One of my favourite things about Camp Bestival is the wide variety of food available. We plan to eat out for our main meal every day, I get a break from the kitchen and we all get to gorge ourselves with our favourites from the festival. There’s no arguments about what to eat from the children because there really is something for everyone.

Last year I particularly enjoyed visiting The Feast Collective. A marque packed with some of the best street food producers around. These gastronauts are pushing the culinary boundaries. Going where no chefs have gone before and taking one giant leap for our tastebuds (see what I did there). The chefs have all been asked to consider their STEPS (Sustainability, Traceability, the Environment and Provenance) making the Feast Collective the ultimate taste-fest and the yummiest festival food I’ve ever had.

This years Feast Collective line up;

Feast Collective ambassadors;

DJ BBQ/ Steven Lamb/ Jo Ingleby/ Luke Thomas/ Tess Ward

Food encounters of the stirred kind;

Seadog/ Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen/ Pimp My Ramen/ Makatcha/ The Chocolate Bear Kitchen/ Coco Labelle/ Lemlem kitchen/ The Rattling Pan/ Pho Sho/ Shrimpy/ Butchies/ The Cauldron/ S’Juice Me/ Polar Pops/ Noble Espresso

Checking out the lineup my mouth is watering. Particularly tempting me are Pimp My Ramen noodle burger enthusiasts (with a veggie burger option), Pho Sho for Vietnamese street food, and for dessert something from The Chocolate Bear Kitchen who make gluten free, unrefined sugar and vegan treats. I reckon Mr Purple will be hitting Noble Espresso for that morning boost after a night sharing a tent with three children.
