Hotel Du Vin

I’ve lived in Bristol for over 15 years, and have been intending to visit Hotel Du Vin Bristol for nearly an equal amount of time. Then life got in the way, I had children and got caught up in nappies and baby wipes, then school runs and ballet classes, and never managed to visit.

So when local blog network Bristol Bloggers and Influencers organised an afternoon tea bloggers event at The Hotel Du Vin I had to sign up. When I received the menu for the afternoon tea I got very excited and made sure I was very hungry to make the most of the delicious treats on offer.

Hotel Du Vin is in what was previously a collection of grade II listed warehouses. Beautifully restored it is a unique luxury boutique four star hotel and bistro located in Bristol’s city centre.

Mini Sandwiches and savouries

Because I’m a vegetarian I had a slightly different offering to the rest of the group, and enjoyed an egg mayo sub, mozzarella and tomato bagel, goats cheese and spinach quiche and heritage tomato and tapenade galette. The whole plate was delicious but I particularly enjoyed the galette which was flavoursome and melted in the mouth.

Scones with Bonne Maman jam, clotted cream and Lescure butter

The only question here is jam then cream or cream then jam? Tough decisions.

Sweet mini treats

As a vegetarian I was unable to try the lemon meringue pie or the raspberry and dark chocolate teacakes but they looked delicious. I did enjoy the knickerbocker glory and rhubarb and dark chocolate doughnuts.

I drank tea, champagne and sampled an amazing cocktail made by hotel du vins mixologist, it was like Christmas in a glass, yummy.

Feeling slightly tipsy and extremely satisfied I was taken on a tour of the rooms at Hotel Du Vin. All the rooms are named after wines, with the champagne rooms the most luxurious. I was completely wowed by the bedrooms and am considering a stay with my husband for a special treat.

Look at the beautifully decorated luxury. Yes I know there are two pictures of the baths but they’re stunning and with two located on the mezzanine floor of the champagne room I feel like taking a bath could be an incredibly romantic experience.

The staff and management team at The Hotel Du Vin were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The rooms are beautiful and the food is delicious. I would absolutely recommend a visit and if you’re feeling fancy a stay in one of their glorious bedrooms.

*Disclosure: I attended this event and received afternoon tea at the Hotel Du Vin for the purposes of this post.
