autism and physical health

This week I’m joined again by my autistic friend Ros, for this months Autism In Company. We’re discussing autism and physical health. Anecdotally in the autism community there appears to be a higher incidence of certain physical health conditions. Including fatigue, joint pain, digestive issues, hyper mobility, and other chronic health conditions like ME. POTs, MCAS, and  Ehler Danlos Syndrome.

In this video we discuss the autism and physical  health complaints we’ve experienced throughout our lives. The commonality of these kinds of conditions being discussed amongst the online autism community. The potential reasons for a link. As well as sharing some tips for reducing overstimulation. We discuss self care, the impact on physical health, and how to implement self care into your life for better health.

Ironically while making this video we were both feeling overstimulated and fatigued, and I think you can clearly see the brain fog!

If you find this video useful please share widely. I’ve been working really hard to make videos for the autism community, but growing a YouTube or blog following is proving challenging so I’d really appreciate your help in spreading the word.

Here are some useful links for blog posts I’ve written on this topic
