Happy New Year. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and have started feeling 2019 feeling positive. Unfortunately I’ve not had the best start to 2019. I’ve experienced two bereavements. As well as managing a private and sensitive situation in the Purple family.
This weeks video is a New Years catch up. What’s been happening for me lately, and how I’ve been coping, or not coping as the case may be.
If you fancy seeing what I was thinking this time last year, here’s last year’s New Year post.
Hi Ella – I’ve been following you blog and watching your videos for about the last six months and I’d just like to say how massively helpful I’ve found them. I’m not autistic myself but I work for the NAS in family support and I have recommended your channel to so many people, flagging it up on my professional FB page and generally putting the Purple Ella word out there. You are now helping to support a lot of people in the Monmouthshire area!
I just wanted to thank you for your courage in posting this latest video. It’s really important to acknowledge that we ALL fail to live the lives we want to, sometimes, and that THAT IS OK! You’ve had some really major and difficult to cope with life events so it would be far more surprising if you hadn’t fallen off the wagon and gone back to smoking. Be kind to yourself and don’t judge yourself too harshly – it’s not the best coping strategy but I can think of worse ones!
I do hope that 2019 takes a turn for the better soon and that your uncle’s funeral is a time when you can get together with family and remember all the good times you had with him, as well sharing your sadness that he’s no longer with you.
All the very best,
Alis
Hi Alis, thanks for taking the time to come and let me know that my work has been helpful for you and the people you work with. It’s always lovely to hear, and spurs me on so thanks. Also thanks for your kind words about my situation, echoing the response most people had to this video, which makes me feel better.
