Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year. But it also presents some challenges for autistic adults and children. Christmas shopping can cause overload. Christmas food can present challenges due to dietary requirements, and sensory sensitivities. Even opening presents can be tricky if you’re not good with new things. So I made this autism Christmas video.
Sharing tips and tricks that I’ve picked up over the years, to help to make your Christmas more autism friendly.
In this video I’m covering;
- Christmas shopping
- Festive food choices
- Christmas presents
- The extra social demands of Christmas
I hope you find my video useful. Have a very merry Christmas 🎄

Here’s some advice from The National Autistic Society about Christmas
Thank you for this video. It has helped me to accept that I can’t expect my son to conform with all the Christmas traditions, and hopefully it will be more enjoyable for him (and us) if we are more flexible. Merry Christmas x
