Since receiving my autism diagnosis in 2016 I’ve heard a variety of responses when I disclose my autism. Or when I talk about autism in general. Sometimes these responses are not helpful and come from a place of misinformation. The most common of which is the classic “everyone’s a little bit autistic” or the variation on the same theme “everyone’s on the spectrum somewhere”.

So I thought I’d make this video. Sharing the types of responses I have heard, why they aren’t helpful and what a more helpful response might look like. And (spoiler alert) no, everyone isn’t ‘a little autistic.’
