
Sensory processing difficulties occur when the brain has difficulty processing and responding to sensory input. This is common in autistic people and people with ADHD. A sensory diet is a program of sensory activities to do each day to make sure your body is getting the input it needs.
I would recommend working with an occupational therapist as the best way to identify your sensory processing needs and develop a sensory diet. However sometimes, due to wait times or cost implications, this isn’t possible.
